No Separation

Continuous labor support for maternal and fetal health.

Many hospitals will separate their doulas and support persons from them during triage and/or in the operating room if a cesarean is indicated.

Make sure to let your hospital and provider know that you do not want to be separated from all of your support persons, including your doula, at any time. Remember, you are a paying customer and a healthy pregnancy is not an illness or an emergency. Here is a letter I hope you will customize for your birthing time. My prayer is that letters like this may help change some broken systems by implementing evidenced based care. I encourage you to upload this letter to your online health systems portal along with your birth plan and have both approved in advance of your birthing time.
