Epidural Medication
Epidural medication is the most commonly used pain-management method requested and used during labor in the US.
The medications used for an epidural are local anesthetics commonly used with opioids. The goal of the epidural medication is to provide pain relief by blocking the nerve impulses from the top of your uterus to the middle of your thighs. While an epidural potentially provides the best pain relief, the tradeoffs are it is the most invasive and the most confining.
